Four Serpents

The wood for four serpents is Virginia iron wood.  This piece was found on my property.  It is one piece of wood that was twisted by honeysuckle that gave the effect needed to create the snakes.  The twisted snakes in the center were enhanced by burning scales on them and creating their heads.  Each head appears to be devouring a different snake; one is a California king and the other is a diamondback rattler.  Leather dyes were used in the coloring process.  This piece is 50″ long.
