Blooming Lily with Butterfly

The blooming lily is a banana gourd mounted on the end of a dipper gourd and the ball of the dipper gourd shows some external roots around a simulated ball of black dirt.  The leaves were made from parts of a larger gourd and stems are wooden dowels.  The base is a larger gourd with many geometrical designs, including a plastic eye in the center of the underside.  I filled the base with play sand that holds the dipper gourd in place.  The butterfly is made from all gourd parts and is quite fragile.
